Where we started

Issuing invoices in Excel or Word tables quickly becomes a bottleneck: each invoice has to be built anew, VAT calculated manually, bank statements reconciled against invoices by hand, and data on customers, expenses and payments is scattered across files and separate programs. As volume grows, so does the risk of errors and the time spent on repetitive work and transferring data to accounting. A single system tailored to the Latvian market was needed, where invoices, customers, expenses and bank data live in one place, VAT is calculated and declared automatically, and data reaches the accounting software without manual re-entry.

What we built

MBC built a multi-tenant invoicing and accounting CRM on Laravel and React. The system covers the whole cycle — from customer and catalog to quote, invoice, payment and accounting export — with Latvian VAT rates, a VAT declaration, compliant PDF invoices and mandatory two-factor authentication.

• Customers, a product/service catalog, quotes, invoices and recurring invoices in one system
• Latvian VAT calculations (rates 21/12/5/0) and an automatic VAT declaration by rate
• PDF invoices in the Latvian format with amounts in words and delivery to the customer by email
• Payment tracking, expenses with suppliers and automatic categorisation
• Bank statement import (FiDAViSta and ISO 20022 camt.053) with automatic reconciliation against invoices
• Integrations with the Jumis and Visma Horizon accounting software, as well as Shopify and WooCommerce
• DeskTime time tracking integration — logged hours turned into an invoice
• Mandatory two-factor authentication (2FA), roles, an audit log and multi-tenant data separation
